Welcome to Bagdad, Florida..
Ah... (sigh..)
The night of July 3rd is such a special time here.. All the little pre, and post pubescent tots gleefully igniting scores of somewhat heavy duty fireworks, in addition to firing weapons of all calibers into the air. It gives me a warm, fuzzy feeling deep beneath my bullet proof vest. ( as if i needed to be any warmer at 95% humidity and 85 degrees at 10pm at night.)
Any Veteran retuning from Iraq would feel right at home here. Screaming shells, flares, and the soothing "pop-pop-pop" of other ordinance form a varitable symphony that illuminates the night sky, and tickles the ears, not to mention all the people who either speak no english, or refuse to.. No Kevlar helmet nedded Soldier, just a nice little simulated artillery barrage to help lull you into blissful sleep.
Theres no real threat unless Rojelio imbibes too much Cisco and forgets to aim either the rocket shell, or current firearm being used as a "party popper" skyward.. But, (ahem..) that seldom happens.. (crosses fingers)
